A high pressure coolant system offers a number of advantages to shops that are looking to improve efficiency and reduce tooling costs. These machines dissipate heat and reflect chips from work surfaces, allowing for high feed rates and faster spindle speeds.
CNC Indexing & Feeding Technologies offers 4 options for HPC systems, all of which come standard with an on-board transfer pump.
Our high pressure coolant systems are complete self-contained units with heavy-duty steel enclosures and a tank design that reduces heat and foaming. Each system has a dirty filter signal that gives a visual indication for each filter.
Options include:
HPC-400: This 8 GPM 3HP gear pump system for water based coolant is adjustable between 75 – 427 PSI. The unit is ideal for lathe and vertical mill applications or for shops with a limited budget.
HPC-1000: Our most popular coolant system, this is our 8 GPM 7.5 HP gear pump system for oil and water based coolant, adjustable between 75 – 1,000 PSI. This unit comes standard with a 37-gallon reservoir tank and 4 port outlets. The HPC-1000 is ideal for both horizontal and vertical milling machines and lathes.
HPC-1500: Like the HPC-1000, this unit is a gear pump system with 8 GPM 7.5 HP for oil and water based coolant comes standard with a 37-gallon reservoir tank and 4 port outlets. It is adjustable between 75 – 1,500 PSI and is ideal for applications that utilize tools with large coolant orifices that require higher flow rates.
HPC-2000: Our largest standardized high pressure coolant system is deal for CNC Swiss lathe machine tool applications. It uses only oil based coolant, offering a 6 GPM 10 HP gear pump system adjustable between 75-2000 PSI. This unit comes standard with a 37-gallon reservoir tank, 8 port outlets, and oil chiller.
Reasons to Use a High Pressure Coolant System
There are a number of excellent reasons to use this kind of a system, but No. 1 on the list is improved part quality and surface finish.
Another reason to use a high pressure coolant system is extending the tool life of your custom or conventional cutting tools. Significantly reducing heat and chips at the cutting area always equates to longer tool life and reduced downtime.
Every purchase a shop makes should equate to an increased ROI. High pressure coolant systems will allow for increased spindle speeds and feed rates, potentially reducing cycle times from 20% to 40%. Also, CNC Indexing’s dual filter system allows for filter changes while the machine is running in production mode, decreasing downtime once again and adding to your shop’s bottom line. Oil skimmer and other micron rated filters are available.
